PrimLink is all about your Inventory, and it's built wth the opinion that tags are the best way to organize your things, not folders! It does three things super-well that your SL viewer just can't:
- 🏷️ Tag-based organization
- 🔍 Enhanced search abilities
- 🎮 Share RLV control
What It's Not
PrimLink is not a separate inventory. It is not a marketplace. It is not integrated to any sellers. It is not affiliated with Second Life.
It is purely and simply a different window into your own inventory! There's almost nothing that PrimLink stores which isn't already found in your Second Life account.
Alternatives
PrimLink is intended to be simple, and focus on discovery. There are plenty of other features for control RLV offers, and integrations or automations that you may make it easier to dress without touching your Second Life viewer.
PrimLink won't include complex automations and if-this-then-that logic.
If you are seeking a more advanced option, check out the CTS Wardrobe. Both products offer tagged item discovery, albeit through different mechanics.
CTS certainly offers much more control with a different view.
Getting Started
You can make an account without purchase!
You can even get started searching your own things using file-import. Otherwise, you can experiment with the user experience through the demo, without any commitment or sharing of your data.
Start with Importing a Viewer Cache File, or try the demo first.
The only thing missing from these experiences is any real integration to Second Life using RLV, which allows you to dress your avatar through the browser.
If you like what you see, purchase the HUD for better integration.
How to Organize in a Nutshell
The overall steps to dive into using PrimLink are:
- Prepare your inventory items
- Register them into the application
The bare minimum configuration necessary to prepare an inventory item into PrimLink is to place the item in your #RLV folder, and give it an empty subfolder called #primlink.
You can add tags and details later!
📁 #RLV
📁 PrimLink Outfitters - My Fave Outfit
👉 📁 #primlink
📁 HUD
📁 boots
📁 sweater
📁 pants
Once your items have this subfolder, copy their names (eg, PrimLink Outfitters - My Fave Outfit) into PrimLink to register them!
Happy searching 🔎, and dive into the documentation for more details on how to do any particular thing!
